Recital Week Details

Since we are doing three recitals this season, your dancer must be at ALL shows! (Unless they are in Creative Combo — our Monday 5:45–6:45 class). Creative Combo dancers will only be performing in the Friday 6 PM Show and the Saturday 6 PM Show.

During recital week, everyone is always super busy and things seem to be hectic. If you have any questions or concerns, please email us at merakiaod@gmail.com. This guarantees that someone will see your message and respond. All of the owners have access to the Meraki email and will get back to you faster if you use this form of contact instead of texting only one instructor/owner.

• •All dancers must have their hair out of their face — bun, ponytail, or half up/half down (unless otherwise specified by their instructor).
• •All dancers need: foundation, blush, eye shadow, mascara, and lipstick. Please arrive with makeup and hair already done.
• •Creative Combo dancers still need makeup — the stage lights are very bright and makeup enhances their features for the audience.
• •Please make sure your dancer has the correct shoes (e.g. black jazz shoes, pink ballet shoes, black tap shoes, lyrical shoes).
• •Shoes can be cleaned with a magic eraser if extremely dirty, but this is not mandatory.
• •Tights are mandatory — nude colored, no holes or rips. We will place a tights order in May if needed.
• •NO JEWELRY, NO NAIL POLISH, NO UNDERWEAR. If undergarments are needed, they must be seamless and not visible through the costume.

• •Check your dancer in with Ms. Brittany on Dress Rehearsal and Recital Day/Night. She will direct you to the dressing room.
• •We have several room moms helping backstage for each age group. Your dancer is in the best hands!
• •If you are NOT a room mom or backstage help, please DO NOT stay backstage.
• •No colored beverages or food backstage — water only. We don't want any costume stains!

• •To become a room mom, notify us by completing the Google form that was emailed to you. Space is limited — notify us immediately if you want to volunteer.
• •Room moms agree to help dancers change costumes, fix shoes, fix hair, etc. — you are the third arm for our dancers.
• •Room moms agree to stay until ALL parents have picked up their dancers.
• •Room moms agree to organize dancers' costumes/accessories/shoes before leaving so everything is ready for the next show.
• •We LOVE and appreciate room moms — we reserve the front row for staff and room moms to watch their dancer perform!
